What a fantastic time we had at the 2012 Moretonhampstead Carnival

All of our new events were so well supported and we broke all records with our Carnival Fete!

The week running up to the Moretonhampstead Carnival Day is packed with events for all the family with live music, tea dances, fun fair, fetes, fun runs and so much more and for 2013 we are running Moretonhampstead Country Fayre for two days over the weekend of 17th & 18th August with something for all the family!

Moretonhampstead is THE place to be on Carnival Day

Come and see what is probably the best town carnival in Devon and most certainly the largest of it's kind on Dartmoor. Activities on Carnival Day include fun for the children in The Square where you will find Face Painters, Bouncy Castles, Music and Charity Stalls throughout the afternoon

In addition our regular Funlands Fun Fair, the Traditional Furry Dance, the crowning of the Carnival Royalty and the judging of the Carnival Entries all take place and all lead up to the main event - The Grand Carnival Procession!

Come early and enjoy the sights and hospitality of Moretonhampstead - A Traditional Dartmoor Market town that dates back to Saxon Times

Follow the Town Trail, Enjoy a real Devonshire Cream Tea at one of our Tea Rooms or a drink in one of our excellent pubs but make sure that you get a good spot for viewing the Grand Carnival Procession that in recent years has contained as many as 80 floats!

But it doesn't end there - Once the Carnival Procession has gone through the partying continues with even more live music from bands in the square and the Funlands Fun Fair open 'til late!

Moretonhampstead Carnival is a charity event that raises funds to support local organisations and facilities for the community - Please support us
